As a former top athlete and passionate trainer, I understand how important combining physical and mental strength is.

I have experienced the highs of success and overcome the challenges that come with it. This has fueled my passion for inspiring others. With High Power Gym, my goal is to help people bring out the best in themselves, both physically and mentally. My mission is to motivate and guide you toward personal growth and resilience, so you can face life stronger and more empowered.

From a young age, I have been passionate about sports. After completing various educational programs, I immediately entered the world of coaching and training.

With my broad interest and experience in various sports disciplines, I can guide and support members in achieving their goals to the fullest. From martial arts to triathlons, I’ve experienced it all firsthand. Elements from these disciplines have been integrated into our concept to offer the most effective programs, both physically and mentally, for our members.

I’m Daryl Janmaat, former professional football player and proud founder of High Power Gym. 

My career started at a young age with Tonegido in Voorburg and took me through clubs like Feyenoord, SC Heerenveen, Newcastle United, and Watford, all the way to the Dutch National Team, where I played 35 matches. The biggest highlight? The 2014 World Cup in Brazil, with that legendary 5–1 win against Spain.
As a defender, I was known for my speed, strength, and mental toughness. By focusing on nutrition, extra training, and discipline, I got the best out of myself—and now I want to help you do the same. At High Power Gym, we guide people to reach their goals and discover what they’re truly capable of. Whether it’s physical fitness, mental strength, or personal growth: if you give it 100%, anything is possible.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND
OUR TRAINING METHOD

At High Power Gym, we train based on five heart rate training zones. By adjusting your effort to match your heart rate, we ensure maximum effectiveness. Most of the training takes place in Zone 3, where fat burning is at its peak. We also strategically transition to Zone 4 to improve your endurance and stimulate lactate in your muscles. Our goal is to burn as many calories as possible while building muscle strength. Additionally, Zone 2 plays a vital role in strengthening your foundational fitness and improving your metabolism.
